About
Artist living in North London. My work is inspired by places, particularly local and sometimes further afield where I have formed strong impressions and memories (and the people along the way).
My sketchbook impressions, direct observation and my own photographic archive are the main source materials that feed into my creative process.
Generally representational, I work primarily in oils on canvas exploring my experience of a place or memory and expressing that in paint. It is the close looking to see what is truly there (in my eyes), that translates into the final image.
Current strands in my work follow location (many recent landscapes feature Alexandra Palace as a regular motif); a more domestic setting and environment that draws in family and friends; food enthusiasm (cooking and eating) manifest itself as a series of still life paintings.
